Biography

Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, 2d Marines
Lt. Col. Andrew R. Manaois

LtCol Manaois commissioned in December of 2008 after graduating from Reinhardt College with a BS is Sociology.

Upon completion of The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course, he served as a Rifle Platoon Commander, with 1st Battalion, 7th Marines and deployed in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Following this deployment he served as the 8 Imm Mortar Platoon Commander and deployed in 2012 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Sangin, Afghanistan.

In March of 2013, LtCol Manaois was reassigned to The Basic School where he served as an instructor and MOUT package primary instructor. After completing Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course in March 2014 he transitioned to the Infantry Officer Course where he served as an Instructor, Class Advisor, and Deputy Director until April 2016.

Upon completion of the Expeditionary Warfare School in May 2017, LtCol Manaois served as the Weapons Company Commander with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines where he deployed in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force (BSRF) 18.2. He then served as the Operations Officer for I st Battalion, 6th Marines where he deployed in support of Unit Deployment Program 20. I .

From June 2020 to June 2023, LtCol Manaois served as the Recruiting Station Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Oklahoma City.

Following successful recruiting duty, LtCol Manaois was assigned to 6th Marine Regiment, where he served as the Operations Officer from June 2023 through May 2025. During this time, he deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Operation SOUTHERN GUARD, Jan - Apr 2025.

LtCol Manaois was then assigned to serve as the Future Operations Officer with 2d Marine Division.

LtCol Manaois is currently the Battalion Commander for I st Battalion, 2nd Marines.

LtCol Manaois is an honor graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School. His personal awards include the MeritoriousService medal (w/ Gold Star), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (w/ Combat Distinguishing Device and Gold Star), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Recruiting Ribbon.
