Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was born 31 July 1979 and raised in Casper, Wyoming. He graduated from Natrona County High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 3 June 1997. He underwent recruit training in Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon completion of recruit training, he was promoted to Private First Class.
Transferring to Camp Pendleton, California, he attended the School of Infantry. Upon completion of the School of Infantry, he transferred to Chesapeake, Virginia to attend Marine Corps Security Forces School. Upon completion of Security Forces School he was assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Company Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Silverdale, Washington from December 1997 to December 1999. He was promoted to Lance Corporal and Corporal.
From January 2000 to January 2003, he was assigned to Company K, 3rd Battalion 5th Marines as a Squad Leader. He deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Okinawa, Japan. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
He transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina to attend Drill Instructor School from January 2003 to April 2003. He was assigned to Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion from April 2003 to July 2003. He was then assigned to Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion from July 2003 to May 2006. He served as a Drill Instructor, MAI, MAIT, and Senior Drill Instructor. He was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant in December 2004.
He transferred to Company E 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines from May 2006 to December 2008 where he served as a Platoon Sergeant and Company Gunnery Sergeant. He deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in the cities of Haditha and Karmah, Iraq.
He transferred to Quantico, Virginia for duties as an Infantry Task Analyst with Training and Education Command, Ground Training Branch from January 2009 to January 2010. From January 2010 to October 2011 he served as the Operations Chief at the Martial Arts Center of Excellence. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in January 2009.
From October 2011 to October 2013, Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was assigned to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines in Lympstone, United Kingdom as part of the Personnel Exchange Program. He trained Royal Marine Recruits, Young Officers and Trained Commandos in Royal Marines Close Combat and Physical Fitness.
From November 2013 to June 2015, Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was assigned to Company A 1st Battalion 2nd Marines for duty as a Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company First Sergeant. He deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
From June 2015 to June 2017 Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was assigned to 2nd Battalion 8th Marines for duty as Weapons Company Operations Chief and Battalion Operations Chief. In September 2015 to June 2017, Master Gunnery Sergeant went TAD to II MEF for duty as the Senior Enlisted Advisor and Operations Chief for the Advise and Assist Team Rotation 3.0 deploying to Al Taqaddum, Iraq in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
From June 2017 to April 2019, Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was assigned to 1st Battalion 25th Marines for duty as Battalion Operations Chief. He was promoted to his current rank here.
From April 2019 to April 2021 Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark was assigned to 2nd Battalion 6th Marines for duty as Battalion Operations Chief. He deployed in support of Marine Rotational Force-Europe.
From April 2021 to Present was assigned to 2d Marines for duty as the Regimental Operations Chief.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with (2) gold stars, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with two gold stars and distinguishing device) and Combat Action Ribbon with gold star.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Clark is married to the former Ms. Dannell Sundem of Casper, Wyoming and have two daughters, Monica and Tiffany.
