U. S. Marines and Sailors with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion 8th Marines, conduct a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C. on July 25, 2013. The NEO was conducted in an effort to have the marines and sailors of 3/8 get used to real world scenarios by having them lauch from USS Wasp (LHD-1) on Landing Craft Air Cushion hovercrafts and land on onslow beach to conduct their movement to combat town and evacuate two U.S. citizens in a mock scenario to better prepare them for the real world applications of a NEO.
