Public Service Loan Forgiveness Limited Waiver Opportunity

On Oct. 6, 2021, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) announced a change to PSLF program rules for a limited time as a result of the COVID-19 national emergency. Throughout the pandemic, ED has provided a variety of benefits to borrowers. Now, for a limited period of time, borrowers may receive credit for past payments made on loans that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF. Temporary Increase to 2021 Basic Allowance for Housing Rates for Certain Locations

Marines who have incurred increased housing costs above their regular BAH rate may be eligible to apply and receive BAH at the temporarily higher rate from Oct 1 to Dec 31. SIP Passports

SIP Passports: DOD civilians, their eligible family members and eligible military family members on official travel must have either a Special Issuance Passport (SIP) or, as a temporary measure, a memorandum from a DOD passport agent stating the SIP application was submitted prior to departure from the point of origin.
