Recently you may have received a notification via MOL indicating leave days that may be lost if not used. Per SECNAV MEMO dated 28 July 2021, Special Leave Accrual (SLA) for COVID-19 for FY21 was approved. "Marines performing active service (i.e., active duty Marines, Active Reserve Marines, and Reserve Component Marines on active duty orders for greater than 29 days) during the effective period (1 October 2020 through 30 September 2021), are authorized to accumulate annual leave in excess of 60 days (not to exceed 120 days) as shown on the Marine's end of month September 2021 Leave and Earnings statement. Such unused leave may be retained until 30 September 2024. Any qualifying leave will be automatically restored requiring no action from the member or command during October. Restored leave (SLA) will be available for review on the Oct 2021 LES.
